Our next function will be held on Wednesday 14th March and our guest speaker will be Malcolm King who is the national DEEWR Employer Engagement and Communication Officer for the Mature Age Policy section.

He will also be joined by David Puckeridge from the Keep Australia Working Programme who will provide an overview of employment within the area.

Malcolm is working with employers to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to maximise their hiring opportunities as large scale demographic change runs through Australian society over the next 25 years.

With the ageing of the population and skills shortages, Australia simply cannot afford to ignore the skills and experience that mature age people bring to the workplace. The Australian Government wants to encourage more employers to appreciate the benefits of employing older workers, and also encourage those who are able to work to continue to share their knowledge and skills.

The Australian Government is offering services and grants of more than $70 million to employers to hire, train and retain mature age workers.

Malcolm has a strong background in business planning, recruitment and media strategy.

Don't forget to bring plenty of Business Cards as there will be plenty of time to Network !!!
