Our October Function is a not to be missed event at Parliament House Sydney. Our Host for the evening is Melanie Gibbons, MLA – Member for Menai.

The Hon Matthew Mason-Cox, MLC, Parliamentary Secretary, will deliver an address and presentation on the much awaited 2011 / 2012 NSW State Budget. You will also have the opportunity ask questions of our Hosts and Speakers.

Dinner will be served, in one of the Parliament Dining Rooms. We will be served a magnificent two course meal and you will also be offered a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks.

You will also have the opportunity to be taken on a tour of Parliament House. This will give you an opportunity to see the outstanding architecture, immaculate gardens, extensive historical artwork, cultural displays, the Parliamentary Library and more.

With both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council scheduled to be sitting on the day of our visit, hopefully you will also have the opportunity to sit in the Gallery and observe our Politicians in action.

Included in the cost of this function, are Coach transfers to / from Parliament House. We will be departing from the Northumberland Street Bus Stop Liverpool (corner of Elizabeth Drive) which has plenty of parking in the Council Car Park for you to leave your vehicle.

We hope that you and your Guests will be able to join us for this iconic event.

A little about the Parliament of New South Wales
The Parliament of New South Wales - being Australia's first and oldest Parliament - is a site of heritage significance. The oldest surviving building in the Sydney CBD is included in the complex.

Parliament House is home to a magnificent art collection, some of it acquired through gifts and loans, and some of it purchased from time to time.

Displays of materials from the Parliamentary Collection are mounted frequently and the Fountain Court area is used to display community-based art works.

The Parliamentary Library (established in 1840) has a collection of historic books and Parliamentary Archives. The New South Wales parliament is the only State parliament with an Archives Section.
